Lists & Scheduling

My entries have been scarce recently because I decided that blogging isn't a priority at this time. It's about time I sell some fiction, already.  Until that's done, blogging feels like a waste of writing time.

The problem with my writing was really a time management issue. Therefore, I have a personal spreadsheet and schedule everything I do every week. That's not trying to be more organized than anybody else, that's the way I have to do it. I even schedule when I schedule, With my attention deficit disorder, which is defined now as a fault in the brain's executive function, I can't spontaneously do any writing, or most other tasks. A few hours after I start, I will forget what I have to do, and I'll do something else, either some amusement, or something I didn't need to do.

The scheduling is a work around. Without the medication I'm on, I wouldn't even be able to do that. A schedule would be too boring. I'd lose concentration and it would take hours. On the medication, I could at least use the spreadsheet to take my goals and assign a time to them. I can go from desire, to plan, to follow-through, to accomplishment.

I'm not OCD. If I'm knocked off schedule, I just repair it and get back on it as soon as I can. No hassle. I feel fortunate. So many people have medical problems that have no solutions.
